A collection of prototype applications created by the DGU Digital Innovation Team to support various professional services and administrative functions at Oxford University. Some use AI to deliver value within the app.
How they were built
All applications were created using Generative AI tools — primarily Claude Code and/or Codex — by Gavin Thomas, a product manager by career rather than a professional software developer.
Prototype status
Each was created as a prototype, not a commercial-grade application. In the absence of architectural review, code review, security review, thorough testing, documentation, backend integration, appropriate hosting, and a resourced maintenance and support plan, these applications should be considered prototypes. However they do showcase the power of using AI to produce working software that adds real value.
